Flood Footage- Part I

Keith took a bike ride early on Sat. and got these pictures. This is a picture from the entrance of our neighborhood (as you can tell we were saved because we live on a hill). This is the main road (highway 46) that leads into town. The big bridge you're seeing is I-65. Normally, we would drive on 46, under the bridge, and about another 4-5 miles into town.

A closer view of 46 leading into town.

This is the back road that Keith usually takes to work (you'll see a better one later). You'll have to click on this picture for a close-up to see the water covering the road. For those of you familiar with the area, this is the access road next the Jay C/Westhill Shopping Center.

This is the gas station we use most on 46. All of our gas stations were flooded, so even if we could get out, we don't know when there will be gas available.

This is our liquor store and the mexican restaurant at the bottom of the hill.

As you can see, the water is not very deep here. Keep in mind you are seeing the leading edge of the flood. Places in town saw 11+ feet of water. Store front windows were destroyed, businesses flooded. Also, the hospital was completely evacuated and is inoperable. We do not know when it will reopen.
