Cleaning Up

This is Cummins Plant #1. You are seeing these types of vans, trucks, dumpsters, etc. all over town (at businesses). This plant is located accross the street from the creek that flooded in town.

Here is another common sight. Pumps with tubes cleaning out businesses. The creek is in front of this building, on the other side of the black bars.

Here is a small portion of the hospital. It is closed indefinately at this point. Notice the FEMA trucks (I think that's what they are, but I'm not really sure) in the parking lot.

This is East High School. You can see the water being pumped out of the gym into this retention pond.

This is another common sight around town. Rows of home with trashed belongings along the road. This is what makes me most sad to see.

Sorry for the quality of these pictures. I didn't want people to see my gawking so I took them while driving!

I won't be posting anymore depressing pictures of the flood. I wanted to post these because this blog is also our family "memory book".

It really is surreal to see it on your blog. It looks like things you see on the news and don't ever want to think about happening near you. The one of the houses with all of the stuff in front is really sad.

Do you think that building had water on the top floor? I don't understand why it had a pump all the way at the top floor of the building. That is crazy and so unbelievable.

It didn't have water that high- I'm not really sure either but I think there is stuff that kind of circulates all over the building. I don't really know what I'm talking about, but on the news the hospital guy was talking about that and saying that it wasn't just a matter of cleaning out the basement and first floor.

The houses are definately the most disturbing. There are entire neighborhoods where every home has that much stuff out in front.

The tubes are connected to very large dehumidifiers. Just wanted to set the record straight.

You always know everything...how is it possible?
