My Strange Inventions

This is random, but I had to post it to look back on and laugh. If any of you remember my last invention (the sheets), you'll appreciate this. I think it is hilarious, but at the same time genius. So, I was in a slight panic a few days ago when I realized that Cameron's Miracle Blanket was no longer cutting it. She still has to be swaddled to sleep. She's not colic anymore, but has a few lingering bits. Anyway, she's moving too much and too tall for the foot part of her blanket, but a regular blanket is way too small. She was actually waking herself up in the middle of the night with mad little legs flailing. We sure can't have unnecessary waking up in the middle of the night! What was I to do? I tried just swaddling her arms because according to the book we consider our Colic Bible, the arms are the important part. Unfortunately, it rode up, sort of around her neck and I thought that was probably a bad idea. So, I have now installed 2 safety pins. One to hold the swaddle around her arms and one to hold the bottom part down between her legs. It works like a charm. Thank God!

Our book said most colic babies can be free of the swaddle after 4 months but some need it for 6-even 8 months! Cameron doesn't need to be swaddled during the day for short naps, but she still needs it for good, deep sleeping. I wonder how other people kept 6-8 month old babies in their swaddles. They probably could have used my little adaptions for the Miracle Blanket!

She looks like she's in a straight jacket.
