Stories of the day

Yesterday, I went to pick Ty up from daycare. As I was walking in, there was a dad and his daughter walking out. He had his hands full, so I held the door open for them (I know, I know, I'm such a good citizen). The dad told the girl to say thanks to me. But, she just gave me this really funny look...she wasn't able to say anything. So, I said, "You're welcome." anyway and kept going. Then, I heard her say to her day, "Daddy, daddy, that was Ty's mom!"...it was so cute...I felt like a celebrity.

Last night, we took Ty to his grandparents' house for an overnight. When we pulled up, we saw that they had their Christmas tree up in the living room (right where his toys are usually waiting for him). We both decided that was going to be a nightmare since he's into EVERYTHING right now! We couldn't believe it when we went in. He dove out of my arms to get on the floor, "ran" across the room, and (we couldn't believe this) went right past the tree to his toys. All 4 of us looked at each other with our mouths wide open. We couldn't believe he passed up the shiny balls and tree lights for his toys he plays with all the time!

Ty, it seems you have made quite the impression on the older woman at daycare! :)
